An Inspirational Story of One Spa Therapist Turned Successful Entrepreneur by Jennie Lam, Esthetician

My name is Jennie and I am a licensed Esthetician with my own profitable home-based business providing facials with Arbonne, a premium skin care line.  I earn between 35% and 50% commission (my wholesale cost) with every product sale. Today I have good reason to network and I have renewed enthusiasm to give facials to friends and family outside of work in the spa.  

Since I began my home-based business, new opportunities have knocked at my door. For example, one of my colleagues, a bride to be, wanted to treat her entire bridal party for spa treatments at her wedding resort location.  Instead, I was asked to perform the bridal party's facials, as it would be more affordable for her, it is an opportunity to mix business with pleasure.

Aside from my Arbonne business, I also work for a renowned day spa in New York City.  Once I worked a promo event at a spa fair for my NYC spa employer giving complimentary 5-minute facials.  The line of clients was out the door and I must have worked on 45 faces in one day. The sole purpose for the complimentary facials was to promote the spa, but to my surprise many people wanted to buy the products immediately
after receiving their short facial.  The clients loved the toner I had spritzed, or the smell of the mask or moisturizer that I applied.  This shows how effective a selling tool it is to give hands-on facial treatments.  The combination of a superior product line and my hands-on facial abilities were the recipe for success at the spa fair. 

Arbonne’s pure Swiss formulas are pH correct, botanically-based, hypoallergenic and dermatologist tested.  I am witness to their good name and reputation in the spa industry.  In the spa, I’ve given facials to a handful of clients who used Arbonne for their home care and raved of phenomenal results.  I attend spa industry shows where friendly and knowledgeable Arbonne representatives present the product.  A respected skin care director who employed me also has used it and loved it.    

I am proud to be an entrepreneur in esthetics with Arbonne, a company connected to beauty, health and wellness.  Start-up costs are low with minimal overhead.  There are tax advantages and it serves as an excellent source of extra income.  Their promotional aids and marketing materials are fabulous and their packaging beautiful.  Arbonne has free on-line training, committed leadership and continued support.  Additionally, Arbonne is a network marketing business which rewards higher commissions and wholesale discounts when higher sales levels area achieved.  I didn’t choose the product line for that reason, but should I reach those sales levels one day, it would be like getting rewarded for what I would have done anyway.  A win-win situation. 

As a skin care professional, people have always asked for my advice regarding their skin concerns, so it made sense for me to start a business that already related to my profession.  I highly recommend Estheticians to duplicate what I have done when starting their own side business and make Arbonne their skin care line of choice.
